Summary/Abstract: This chapter analyses the development of Spanish as a foreign language in the Slovak education system between 2004 and 2024. Its situation in pre-school, primary, secondary, tertiary and non-formal education is discussed. Although at the beginning of the period the presence of Spanish was marginal and did not compete with other languages such as German, Russian or French, its situation has now improved considerably. In 2023/24, Spanish is in fourth place at most educational levels and is the third most demanded language in non-formal education.
