Summary/Abstract: This chapter analyzes the demolinguistic and educational dynamics of Spanish across the Visegrad Group countries (Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic), a peripheral region in the European Spanish-speaking landscape, where learning Spanish as a foreign language is the primary force behind its development. In this context, it is estimated that there is a potential group of Spanish users of around 636,000 speakers, representing approximately 1% of the population in each country. Among them, eight out of ten have acquired Spanish in educational contexts. The results show a growing interest and increase in the learning of Spanish, although this development is taking place within the framework of low institutionalization and limited presence in non-formal education settings.
