Summary/Abstract: The paper examines potential risks associated with financial information platforms used by individual investors. It highlights the increasing popularity of these platforms and the wide range of information they offer like market and financial data, as well as fair values determined using the discounted cash flow method through automated models. The paper investigates the accuracy of the automated models and whether they are more reliable than financial analysts’ estimates, by comparing their results with stock prices and analysts’ price targets. The paper also identifies problems in the applied automated models that can mislead investors who rely on them to make investment decisions.
