Summary/Abstract: The text looks for relationship between an ESG index or selected ESG indicators on the one hand, and the GDP and economic growth of EU countries – on the other. Openly available data is used, including from Eurostat and the World Bank, modeled with ordinary least squares regression and time series linear regression. The results show that is difficult to demonstrate this relationship with these data. A discussion is made on the availability and quality of data and on the modeling of the effects of ESG indicators on processes of interest for research. An analogy is made between analyzes at the company level and at the level of national economies.
