Summary/Abstract: The European Green Deal aims to protect, maintain and improve the European Union’s natural capital, as well as protecting citizens from environmental risks and related impacts. At the same time, the transition must be fair and inclusive, with increased attention to the regions, industries and employees who will face the greatest difficulties. Romania is committed to preventing and combating climate change and aims to reduce carbon emissions, although our country already has one of the lowest emission rates in the European Union. The integration of mitigation and adaptation measures into Romania‘s national strategies, policies and programs represents an important step on the way to ecological economic growth with low carbon emissions.
