Summary/Abstract: The article synthesizes studies that analyse greeting formulas in the Romanian language and/or greeting as a fundamental component of Romanian speakers’ communicative behaviour, highlighting the importance of revisiting this topic within an interdisciplinary framework. The sociolinguistic questionnaire is proposed as the main research instrument for examining greeting formulas, with the aim of identifying attitudes, habits, and perceptions related to everyday greetings, as well as the frequency of various greeting forms. The research extends beyond the field of linguistics into sociology and psychology in order to facilitate the collection of greeting formulas and the observation of regional, social, age-related, and gender-based variations in speech. The study is particularly relevant in the context of new generations of digital natives, who are shaping distinct behaviours and perspectives regarding this verbal and/or nonverbal communicative act: greeting.
