Summary/Abstract: One of the defining characteristics of man, the oldest and most comprehensive, is being a rational being, reason being the specifically human quality that gives strength, value and direction to life. Thinking as a psychic process represents man's ability to introduce order, rationality into world events. It is no coincidence that studies of reason in general and thinking in particular have always fascinated scientists, starting with the great philosophers of antiquity, up to recent research in the field of cognitive psychology.
