Summary/Abstract: In the contemporary security environment, marked by the diffusion of the limit between peace and war, the emergence of unconventional forms of disruption and violence has become pervasive. In this context, cognitive warfare was advanced as an innovative notion, both in academia and military field, as a potential solution to delineate various forms of informational driven attacks. As the concept has yet to receive a final definition, it is of interest to investigate what are the potential measures that can be designed to mitigate the effects induces by cognitive warfare. As such, this paper aims to examine the most important parameters of cognitive warfare and subsequently the relevance and the feasibility of normative and institutional measures response aimed to tackle this new sophisticated and subtle form of aggression.
