Summary/Abstract: This article draws attention to the threat of terrorist attacks, which is becoming a challenge to the security of the European Union. Divided into three sections, it outlines how the European Union has attempted over the years to counter the spread of this transnational extremist phenomenon and to maintain a state of regional security by coordinating directives on international cooperation between state actors.
