Summary/Abstract: The decoupling of the Romanian territories of Bessarabia, Northern Bukovina and Hertza by the Soviet regime in 1940 was carried out deliberately through violence and terror against a peaceful population, without having the slightest justification in this regard. The exodus of the population from the Romanian territories cut off by the Soviet regime in 1940, it is generated by the furious desire of the communist power to impose something that was totally contrary to the way in which the Romanian territory had operated until then. And in such a situation, it was only a solution to keep itself in power: legislating terror, terror against some people, but also the terror against some social groups entirely – justified by the Soviet legislation – which also led to an ample process of refuge of the local population. Personal tragedies, expressed through the pains and sufferings experienced by the population forced to seek refuge, essentially or focused on the destruction, of a generation and its successors.
