Summary/Abstract: Background and aim: On July 8, 2025, Bulgaria officially completed its long journey to the Eurozone. This journey was marked, especially in its final phase, by heated debates "for" and "against." This study aims to examine the development of Bulgarian society's attitude towards this process and to outline some guidelines for its further development; Scope: certain limitations should be considered. The study is affected by the lack of available or reliable data and certain biases; Methods: Text analysis, induction, and deduction were used for the purposes of the study. Empirical data were extracted from publications and opinions expressed in the broader media space; Results: Uncertainty and a clear lack of understanding of the positive and negative effects on the Bulgarian economy on the part of citizens are still significant; Conclusions: Bulgarian society is dominated by prejudices about the euro caused by deliberate misleading propaganda, and there is a lack of adequate, argument- and fact-based debate and a real information campaign for the population; Originality: The article presents an original, up-to-date author's view of the processes determining Bulgarian society's attitude towards the effects of adopting the single European currency; Practical implications: The results would be useful for entrepreneurs and public figures in making adequate business decisions.
