Summary/Abstract: This report seeks to examine several fundamental challenges encountered in the distance learning of students in academic disciplines related to accounting and control. It argues that recent political and social transformations in the economy and society have elevated education to a crucial role in facilitating the successful integration of young people into the labour market. The report identifies the primary users of this educational service.Appropriate attention is given to the effectiveness of distance learning and its role within the broader educational system, particularly in terms of opportunities for the education and training of the individual. While distance learning has a place in the educational system, it is argued that it is more closely associated with training than with comprehensive education. Foundational, broad-based training in a given field should be acquired through students' physical presence at the university, as it is precisely this immersion in the academic environment that fosters the intellectual growth of young people. Building on this foundation, individuals can further develop their knowledge and skills in specific subject areas by participating in short-term courses, which are more focused, targeted toward the acquisition of particular competencies, and practically oriented.
