Summary/Abstract: The transport sector in Bulgaria and its impact on water resources are of significant importance. The conducted review outlines the main ways in which transport affects water resources, the resulting environmental consequences, as well as the measures and best practices applied. A general analysis has been made of the environmental problems caused by the impact of transport on water resources in Bulgaria. Results: The presented results are based on data analysis from sources such as the Road Infrastructure Agency, Water Supply and Sewage EOOD – Sofia and Sofiyska Voda AD. Conclusion: The conclusion summarizes the findings of the analysis and outlines opportunities for better management of water resources, as well as ways to improve the transport sector in relation to its impact on water resources. Recommendations for sustainable management have also been proposed.
