Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the dynamics of passenger transport by public transit in the city of Sofia for the period 2019 – 2025. The study covers four main types of urban transport – metro, tram, trolleybus, and bus – tracing passenger flow trends before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on empirical data from the Center for Urban Mobility, a comparative analysis reveals varying recovery degrees across transport modes. The metro demonstrates the strongest recovery, surpassing pre-pandemic levels as early as 2022. Overall passenger flow in 2024 reaches 96% of the 2019 level. Guidelines for sustainable development of public transport are formulated through improving service quality and enhancing social efficiency.
