Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the integration of Industry 5.0 principles into the supply chain of the cork industry. The main objective is to identify and analyze solutions that improve processes in line with the three pillars of Industry 5.0 - human-centricity, environmental sustainability, and resilience. The report begins with a review of supply chain management concepts and the evolution from Industry 4.0 to 5.0, highlighting the new focus on societal goals, worker well-being, and system resilience. The specific characteristics of the cork industry are analyzed – from the unique ecosystem of the cork oak and artisanal harvesting to the risks associated with climate change and the shortage of skilled labor. The main body presents and analyzes five specific solutions implemented by the industry leader - FSC® certification for sustainable forest management; a mechanized cork stripping machine to increase safety and tree health; the use of biomass energy (cork dust) to achieve energy independence and a circular economy; the implementation of a continuous improvement culture (Kaizen) to empower employees and eliminate waste; and packaging innovations through robotization to reduce transport costs and emissions. The conclusion is that for the cork industry, adopting the Industry 5.0 paradigm is a strategic necessity that ensures long-term profitability by synchronizing economic goals with environmental responsibility and social well-being.
