Summary/Abstract: Bulgaria is a tourist country and tourism is a key sector in the country's economy. Given the fact that tourists are the consumers of tourism services, the question of the protection of their consumer rights arises. The Consumer Protection Commission has significant powers in the area of monitoring compliance with tourism legislation. The aim of this article is to analyse the specifics of the control powers of the Commission for Consumer Protection in the field of tourism. At the same time, the mechanisms for coordination of the Commission's activities with other control bodies under the Tourism Act are being clarified. On the basis of the analysis, conclusions and generalisations are drawn on the current legislation and its implementation. The results of this study would be of interest to both the academic community and the government authorities monitoring compliance with the requirements of the Tourism Act.
