Domestic Tourism and Sustainable Development: A Bibliometric Analysis

Summary/Abstract: The main goal of the present paper is to realize a bibliometric analysis of research about sustainable development of domestic tourism published in one of the leading scientific databases – Scopus. For the graphical representation of the results is used VOSviewer software. The selected papers for analysis are based on preselected keywords and content analysis. They are published between 1999 and 2025 with a clear peak between 2020 and 2025. Most of them are articles. The largest number of publications in the field of sustainable development of domestic tourism are observed in the journal Sustainability (Switzerland). The number of conference papers presenting results on the topic is significantly smaller. The analyzed topic is discussed mainly in the context of Social Sciences. The papers are authored by researchers from 50 countries. Scientists from Indonesia and China are mainly working on the topic.
