Summary/Abstract: Student motivation is that dimension whose true value needs to be recognised in order for it to be taken into consideration in research on the academic educational environment and for its explicit role to be acknowledged in the success of university studies as well as in the attainment of a high level of competence and professional achievement. Prompted by these initial considerations, we began the study with the aims of understanding the need for change in the teachers’ visions and attitudes and of explaining the potential future needs of the students currently embarked on architectural studies.
