Summary/Abstract: The article gives a brief overview of the current state of development of Russian academic neography and its new format, i.e. the lexicographic Internet resource ‘New in Russian Lexicon’ (neolex.iling.spb.ru). The resource becomes a convenient and promising source for various neological studies. The material for the analysis is verb innovations of the Russian language of the last decade. Traditionally being the least productive part of speech among all innovations, verbs, however, semantically and pragmatically turn out to be very revealing from the point of view of trends in the dynamics of the vocabulary composition. In the media, occasional verbs appear in the context of language game only in relation to the most vivid news hooks. Usual verbs appear in speech at the stage of consolidation of some new phenomenon in mass consciousness and in the linguistic system. At the same time, statistically even more rare prefix verb innovations testify to the complete adaptation of the non-prefix derivational unit and its acceptance in the speech usage.
