Summary/Abstract: It is enough to look at the purely grammatical function of prepositions. Like endings, they always modify the base of a word without changing the lexical meaning of words, so it is advisable to assume that prepositions form a new case of a word form, for example, like in Bulgarian, the case is no longer formed due to the ending in them, but due to the predominant grammatical meaning of the preposition (grammeme of the preposition). It cannot be assumed that there are almost no cases in Bulgarian, and viceversa – there are more of them due to the grammatical meaning of the preposition, inflection grammemes (ending grammemes), in Bulgarian the endings disappear.
