Summary/Abstract: The article examines Bulgarian gestures that express reciprocity. This is a small group, but one that possesses distinctive features illustrating the diversity of relationships and connections characteristic of the nonverbal elements in Bulgarian communication. The analysis reveals several core traits unique to reciprocal gestures, clearly distinguishing them from other types: a) they involve two configurations, which can stand in a relationship of reciprocity or compatibility; b) they are performed by two equal participants; c) their nominations include verb components in the plural form, indicating that the agents equally engage in, experience, or carry out an action with or toward one another.
