Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the linguistic aspects of teaching Russian as the 2nd language. The text reveals the theoretical problems arisen due to the necessities of explanation the specific features of Russian to those who learns it. There were many inputs made in phonetics (intonation types), grammar (verbal aspect, short forms of adjectives, verbs of motion), lexis (lexical groups, intercultural specifics) by teachers, authors of handbooks and learners’ dictionaries.
