Summary/Abstract: France and Germany have played important roles in the last centuries, and they are two important players in the European Union; even if they are based on the same establishment - Roman Empire influence - they have grown up in quite different manners. This is due to their diverse cultures. One culture is cartesian, while the other is dialectical. This gives them distinction in the way of seeing the world, acting, negotiating, and building the state’s institution and the relationship between the state and society. The paper intends to analyse these differences and how they impact the negotiation styles of people emanating from these cultures.
