Summary/Abstract: In a world where we feel increasingly installing a “culture of death” Pope John Paul II, in 1995, recalls the founding principle of Catholic Christendom of every human existence: the unshakable belief in the God of life. God, the Creator and Lord of life, has the sovereign right of human existence. Therefore, anyone or for any reason, even the most laudable, cannot and does not have right to end the life of anyone. In this paper we want to show, reading the encyclical letter Evangelium Vitae, that the Church, inspired by the Spirit of Christ who has conquered death and restored the hope of the resurrection of man, has the mission to preach the life until the coming of the Saviour in his glory.
