Summary/Abstract: During the Romanian communist period, the Church was considered a dangerous institution by the authoritarian political regime, which is why it tried to make it as insignificant as possible for public life. Despite the many compromises that the Church made towards this regime, such as withdrawing from cultural and social life, or holding religious services only inside places of worship, for example, the Church nevertheless undoubtedly made its presence felt in the lives of believers. A place of honor in this painful and striking process is occupied by the Burning Bush Movement from the Antim Monastery, which manifested among the most daring concrete actions of Orthodox spiritual resistance against the blows that communism dealt the Church. We have set out to write in this study about the spiritual treasure that the members of the movement, its clergy and laity, constitute, as a symbol and model of confession of the Orthodox faith.
