Summary/Abstract: In the context of the profound transformations generated by pandemic, geopolitical, migratory, and technological crises, the European Union faces the challenge of redefining the balance between the protection of fundamental rights and security imperatives. The study examines, from a constitutional and human‑rights perspective, how the concept of “human security” is integrated into the Union’s normative and jurisprudential framework. The analysis highlights the risk of excessive “securitization” of European policies and argues for the need to reconceptualize security in value‑based terms, centered on human dignity and individual freedom.
