Summary/Abstract: This article explores the interdependence between diplomacy and security in the contemporary international context. It analyzes key concepts, types of diplomacy, instruments used, and current challenges such as cybersecurity, disinformation, and hybrid conflicts. The paper highlights the role of the European Union as a global actor and Romania’s position within the European security architecture. The comparative study reveals both convergences and divergences between national and supranational approaches, offering an integrated perspective on security diplomacy in the 21st century.
