Summary/Abstract: Chudomir (penname of Dimitar Chorbadzhiyski, 1890 – 1967) started working for the Zora newspaper in 1932 and left it in 1940. Furthermore, the beginning and the end of his collaboration are recorded primarily in memoirs, which generally adopt the negative viewpoint towards this “reactionary” newspaper that was prevalent in the decades following the Second World War. The article collects all known testimonies, reveals some differences in them, and tries to explore the biography and psychology of this very popular writer and artist. Following the trend of his time, Chudomir underestimates his contribution to Zora, even though a great part of his famous short stories appeared in this newspaper.
