Summary/Abstract: The real estate agent profession is becoming increasingly popular in Bulgaria due to the high dynamics of the real estate market, but at present there is no legal framework on the issues of mediation in real estate transactions. This leads to a number of difficulties, which is why the need for legal regulation of the sector, including the profession, has arisen. In this regard, two draft laws on mediation services in real estate transactions have been submitted to the Parliament of the Republic of Bulgaria. The main purpose of this report is to examine the two draft laws and analyze the changes concerning the regulation of the real estate agent profession. The report also discusses the expected consequences for the labor market in the field of real estate in the event of the adoption of a new law, as well as what would change for clients of mediation services after the adoption of the changes concerning the figure of the agent.
