Summary/Abstract: The issue of political leadership has gained increased relevance and holds critical significance for the future. From both a scholarly and practical perspective, notable shifts are observable in the understanding, nature, and effectiveness of political leadership. These shifts are evidenced through analyses, interpretations, case studies, practical experiences, and achieved outcomes. Contemporary leadership faces evident challenges, with results that are often unsatisfactory for various societal groups and entire nations. These shortcomings are reflected in key macroeconomic and social indicators. As a result, pressing questions arise regarding the qualifications, training, and motivation of the leading political figures within the European Union. Moreover, concerns may be raised about their ethical standards, moral integrity, and psychological resilience. This publication examines selected aspects of political leadership and provides an overview of some of today’s prominent political leaders. The primary objective is to explore contemporary leaders and the specific political and socio-economic issues facing the countries they govern.
