Summary/Abstract: The contemporary international labor market is driven by an exciting transformation, fueled by a combination of demographic changes, political uncertainty and macroeconomic forces. This new landscape presents employers with an imperative challenge: to develop new employee engagement models for driving sustained competitiveness and supporting the acquisition and retention of top talent. Simultaneously, the persistent low rates of world unemployment have resulted in a dwindling pool of candidates, and therefore increased employee mobility across industries and companies. In the pharmaceutical sector, the stringency of maintaining unbroken manufacturing calendar timetables and complexity of process requirements for man-involvement emphasize the need for employers to establish robust policies of worker commitment to ensure the stability of their labor force in the long term.
