Summary/Abstract: The term psychological safety was popularized with the research of Amy Edmondson, a professor at Harvard Business School. Psychological safety of the work environment is understood as the belief of team members that they are free to express their thoughts, views, ideas and concerns, are confident in the possibility of proposing new ideas, making mistakes, asking questions, without fear of negative consequences – being judged, humiliated, punished. Psychological safety unlocks creativity, initiative, activity and a sense of responsibility in team members and increases its effectiveness. The report attempts to theoretically study the characteristics of psychological safety at the team level and at the level of leaders in the conditions of the Bulgarian business environment.
