Summary/Abstract: The maritime industry, as a critical component of global trade and logistics, is undergoing a profound transformation driven by technological advances and changing social, psychological, cultural and ethical challenges. In the context considered, the publication focuses on the new skills resulting from the synergy between technological innovation and the human factor. It is argued that the above-mentioned relationship requires careful study, strategic planning and proactive management, as well as training and investment in psychological and social competence to enhance organizational effectiveness. Empirically, in-depth interviews and subsequent factor analyses demonstrate contemporary challenges resulting from the digitalization of the maritime industry. Optimization of management practices in maritime organizations by reflecting and considering new skills is proposed.
