Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the process of modernizing human resource management (HRM) within the Romanian Court of Accounts (RCA), a key institution in the field of external public audit, in the context of the challenges posed by recent legislative and technological developments. It highlights the institutional reforms that have strengthened the efficiency, accountability, and transparency of the Court’s activities, as well as the importance of rigorous recruitment, adequate remuneration, and continuous professional development of the staff. The article proposes measures to improve human resource policies, including the optimization of the selection process, enhancement of salary competitiveness, intensification of training programs, and strengthening of internal communication. The ultimate goal is to ensure high-performance management capable of meeting the complex demands of external public audit and supporting the sound governance of public funds.
