Summary/Abstract: Counseling, as a procedure that harmonizes a person’s means, requirements, objectives, or personal concerns with the concrete possibilities offered by education, training, and socio‑professional integration, plays a fundamental role in ensuring the continuous development of novice teachers and in stimulating their performance. Thus, the educational mentor not only has professional responsibilities related to educational, curricular, and instructional guidance and to providing working resources, but also the responsibility to offer counseling for personal and professional situations. As a compassionate person, the mentor pays close attention to the professional and personal needs of the beginning teacher, as well as to their concerns and to their successful or less successful experiences.
