Summary/Abstract: The article reveals how much and what kind of information about the Holocaust in Kaunas in 1944– 1945 was provided to readers by one of the most important newspapers in the former Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic at the time, Tarybų Lietuva. The newspaper published just over thirty articles mentioning various episodes of the Holocaust. However, only a few of them reflected Kaunas-specific realities. For some time, the Soviet press wrote about episodes related to the Holocaust in Kaunas very inconsistently, often engaging in obvious ambivalence. These aspects are addressed in this article.
