Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the most striking dialectal features of the Banat dialect based on data from personally collected dialect material from the village of Star Beshenov in Romania. A review is made of their reflection in modern written practice in comparison with the rules reflected in the grammar of Joseph Ril. Attention is paid to some changes in spelling that lead to the deletion of characteristic features of the Banat dialect, as well as its connection with older states of the Bulgarian language. In this regard, the most important feature is the disappearance of the reflection of the specific for the Bulgarian language and Bulgarian dialects reflex ъ of the back nasal (ѫ) and back er (ъ) vowel.
