Summary/Abstract: Bagrjana is not only an established poet, but is also a cultural phenomenon, excellently presented in a book Bagrjana and Slovenia by Ljudmil Dimitrov and Ljudmila Malinova-Dimitrova. The authors in that monography were researching »the biggest world poet of Bolgaria« and »Slovenian« – this last nickname is especially groundbreaking for Slovenians, acquired due to her important role of mediator for culture between Bolgaria and Slovenia at the beginning of the 20th century. In my discussion, I seek to research by comparative-interpretative analysis the Bagrjana poems of two books, translated in Slovene: already mentioned book Bagrjana and Slovenija (2011) and the oldest one, Bagrjana (1978). Her poetics in that poems, partly similar to poetics of Novy and Gradnik, is defined by modernized traditionalism of three sets, three-part composition and exit from the patriarchal matrix, and on the level of topics are existential restlessness, life lust, a spark of creativity, a wandering destiny of an artist and the secret of being.
