Summary/Abstract: The report explores the concept of Industry 5.0 as a strategic approach for the transformation of healthcare institutions in Bulgaria, focusing on people, sustainability and ethical technologies. The main goal is to achieve collaborative work between people and intelligent machines to humanize healthcare. The paper proposes a theoretical framework based on three main principles – humanization, sustainability and organizational resilience, emphasizing the role of technology as a means, not an imperative. The results show that Bulgarian hospitals are at a low to medium level of readiness for the integration of Industry 5.0 technologies, especially in terms of digital connectivity, capacity for innovation and environmental sustainability. Specific weaknesses are reported, such as the lack of a digital strategy, a shortage of staff with digital skills and limited patient participation. In conclusion, Industry 5.0 can be used as a catalyst for a comprehensive transformation of the sector through ethical, sustainable and technological solutions that improve the quality of services, transparency and trust between stakeholders.
