Summary/Abstract: This article is dedicated to the study of the interference of Bulgarian language as a mother tongue and English language in the process of learning Spanish as a foreign language, level A1- A2. After reviewing the basic concepts and types of interference (the sources include classic international authorities and their contemporary Spanish followers), the analysis proceeds to the phonetic level (/Ɵ/ – /s/, /b/ – /v/), morphological level (noun: gender, number; verb: tense agreement, reflexive verbs; pronouns: reflexive pronouns, form, personal pronouns as subjects, usage; adverbs; prepositions), syntactic level: word order in the noun phrase, lexical level where the interference comes only from English, ortography and punctuation. The aim of the study is to systematize the main errors and to provide theoretical and practical support for teaching.
