Summary/Abstract: The report examines some practical aspects and interesting case studies in the study or improvement of foreign languages through other (foreign, non-native) languages – in whole or in part. The latter from the point of view of the teacher who conducts classes in Bulgarian means two main cases – when foreign language teaching is conducted entirely in another foreign (for the teacher or the student) language or when it is conducted mainly in Bulgarian, but numerous examples of a second foreign language are given for the purpose of better study and work with the main one studied, i.e. partially. Naturally, the application of such practices is possible only when the teacher has good, mostly theoretical knowledge of several languages and can find and use this analogue from the other language(s) to support the learner, who in turn is preferable, but not always necessary to have knowledge of the auxiliary language from/in which examples are given. Sometimes it is necessary to give an elementary and easily understandable example from this language (especially if there is no suitable one in Bulgarian) in order to understand something from the main language being taught. The report provides both suitable examples and individual elements of comparative linguistics, and the cited cases are mainly from English, French, German and Spanish.
