Summary/Abstract: This paper presents opinions polls from a nationally representative survey of language attitudes regarding the importance of literary rules. The respondents’ answers allow to infer the rules to which Bulgarian language community today attaches paramount importance. The demographic factors that clearly influence the respondents’ opinions are also indicated. The analysis of the answers in relation to the demographic variables that determine opinions provides valuable guidelines for the codification of decision-making in relation to innovations in the field of grammatical norm.
