Summary/Abstract: This paper highlights the importance of creating some reference levels for teaching Bulgarian as a foreign language. It gives a description of these levels focusing on their different components: language functions, vocabulary, etc., but with a focus on grammar. It also analyses how several recently published textbooks structure the Bulgarian grammar in levels through their language content.
