Summary/Abstract: Apart from comprehensive ethnomusicological research into vocal, vocal-instrumental and instrumental melodies of Serbs in Hungary, conducted by Tihomir Vujicic, systematic field studies of Serbian musical tradition in this area have not been conducted. Of particular interest is the fact of the long-term presence of Serbs in these regions. New field research is necessary, with the aim of getting to know the current state and noticing possible forms of change. It is necessary to compile a bibliography of works that contain at least data on the musical tradition of Serbs in Hungary, a comprehensive inventory of existing musical and sound recordings, as well as the digitization of sound material. A significant segment of the work can be considered support for a practical approach to recorded material and its revitalization in the field itself.
