Summary/Abstract: The presentation will present the scientific and methodological research process and the results of the work on the topic of Serbs in Batanje: ethnic identification and stratification to date. The research strategy includes: a historical dimension – reconstruction of the past, a synchronic plane – the study of everyday life in a multiethnic environment and the symbolic system in the formation of ethnic identity. Ethnological work involves complex field research based on the collection of extensive written and oral material, photo and video recordings, surveys and interviews, etc. The presentation outlines further guidelines and perspectives for researching ethnic processes within the framework of contemporary integration processes and cultural and social specificities. In this sense, ethnological monographic research on multiethnic environments and regional units is a relevant scientific project in inter-institutional and inter-state cooperation.
