Summary/Abstract: The paper summarizes the activities of the Ethnographic Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts from 1947 to 2010, with a brief overview of current projects, publishing activities, international cooperation and staff structure. Based on these capacities and previous work, it is possible to realistically plan the continuation of work on the ethnological study of Serbs in Hungary, in cooperation with representatives of the community itself, primarily with the Serbian Institute in Budapest, founded in 2009.
