Summary/Abstract: Recent trends in world politics have a direct impact on systemic changes. The unipolar world order is becoming multipolar with the weakening of American hegemony. Process of this transformation also affects the relations between states that have different statuses in the system. An example here is the Russian-Turkish relations: the transformation under consideration strengthens Russia’s role as a great power in the international system, while giving Türkiye the opportunity to pursue a more independent regional policy from its Western allies.
