Summary/Abstract: This article explores educational puppet theatre as an effective compensatory tool in the education of preschool children. It examines its historical development and various forms, highlighting its pedagogical value. Special emphasis is placed on its role in supporting children with special educational needs, language difficulties, and social challenges. The presence of educational performances in the repertoire of state and private puppet theatres in Bulgaria is analyzed, along with the need for a balance between didactic and artistic elements. The article concludes with a call for increased support for the creation of high-quality educational puppet theatre projects.
