Summary/Abstract: This text explores the interaction between verbal and nonverbal communication in the construction of a stage character. It analyzes the significance of the information contained in extralinguistic elements and linguistic tools, as well as their role in stage action. Special attention is given to contemporary theatre – particularly puppet theatre – where the synthesis of verbal and physical expression is crucial to the impact on the audience.
