Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the potential of humorous texts in secondary school Russian classes. We achieve this goal through the attitudes of teachers teaching the language, established by analyzing answers received from a large-scale survey, to which 238 people responded (36 from the city of Sofia and 202 from other cities and villages of the country). Based on the analysis of the results, the pedagogical and methodical potential of the humorous texts were highlighted. Apart from that, provoked by negative attitudes, we try to defend the thesis that humorous texts presented in the face of short humoristic pieces of text would “work” also at low levels of Russian language proficiency.
